Simply love Ellington. Not on the beach but if you love golf, its the place to be. Or a very relaxing place. Spend time in the hot tub or indoor heated pool.
We are really disappointed in this place. When we checked in around 7, the amenities desk was closed so we didn't get a parking pass or anything else you would receive upon arriving. The front desk staff was not very friendly. They go off duty at a certain time and then you have to call the emergency number. That would be good except the phones in the rooms don't work. After checking in, we came to the room and tried to turn the air on as it was 78 degrees in here and that was not working either. They had to call an off site contractor who had to come and recharge the system. It took all night for it to cool off in here! Then we go to cook tonight and we find out they got rid of the baking sheets at the beginning of the year. Wth?! So we needed to go to the store and buy our own! Compared to other resorts, this is really sad. If anyone from the Ellington sees this review and would like to discuss it with us, I would say call the room but again the phones don't work! You can look us up and call the number we provided.
This was a very disappointing trip. We got there and had to wait for our room past check in. The furniture was worn and stained. All the tables had scuffs. Dishwasher didn’t work. Dryer didn’t work. Water pressure for showers was terrible and we had to put it to the hottest just to take a warm shower. Our bathrooms we are all backed up when we got there as well. We were appalled with the conditions and will not be planning a trip there anytime soon.
Loving our stay here. We are in a two bedroom unit and it has plenty of room for four adults, a teen, a toddler and a baby. Bedrooms and bathrooms are large and clean. Nice size screened in porch. Kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, pots, and pans. Dishwasher, washer, and dryer all work great and they provide complimentary dish and laundry soap. Three pools, one of them is indoor and it is a nice size. Free water exercise classes every day. Mini golf is free and the driving range is only $5. We also were given a free pass to the state parks. The only criticisms I can give are the out dated TVs in the bedrooms, no DVD players, and the furniture is outdated (color and pattern). The living room TV is new and large and the furniture is clean and comfortable so I am still overall pleased with our stay and we will return.
We have stayed at Ellington during the holidays for the past 10 years, and have always enjoyed the location and amenities. This year though, our room was not up to par. Furniture in the living room was in poor condition, the couch had visible stains, and the two chairs were torn. Coffee tables had scuffs and gouges in them, and the armoire in the bedroom was scuffed and the top shelf holding the TV was broken. As members of Festiva Adventure Club, I am appalled at the condition of the condo and I am seriously considering cancelling my membership.
