Staff often sit around in the lobby. Staff uniforms are not the same.
Clean facilityw/ large room 101..convienently at exit door and quiet at new year's eve...indoor pool (heater was not working), but had a separate whirlpool tub in the room :) Price was fair market value and location was extremely convenient to Brookgreen Gardens. Wonderful breakfast selections too. Service A+
Stayed here 2 nights in Oct '17. All front desk and breakfast area staff were very friendly. Good location, decent size room, OK beds. That's where it ends ....... as other reviews here indicate this hotel is in desperate need of upgrades throughout. Carpeting, dressers, bathrooms, elevator etc are severely lacking. Room was very "musty" the entire time. They did not clean the room very well. Free breakfast was "standard" free breakfast you get. They seem to allow a lot of local workers come in and have a free breakfast which is odd since it must cost them a lot of money for that. One morning I must have seen in excess of 30 of these people. Don't think I would stay here again until they do some major fix up work.
The location was nice, the employees very friendly, and the room was good, bathroom a bit small but ok. Did not use room service, but housekeepers was friendly and polite, didn't bother you except to see if you needed anything, towels, toiletries, etc. I would recommend to friends and family that are looking for a good hotel on a budget.
Carpets in the hallway do not get vacuumed daily, are stained, and smell. Stains on the couch in my room. Vault is not usable. Vanity is water damaged. Stains under the soda and Ice machine in the hall way. Trash is common around the grounds. Door card readers to the stair wells are damaged and don't work. Breakfast has much to be desired.
Its clean and the staff are very friendly my only concern is that their standard 2 bed do not have exhaust fan in their bathroom, although there's a vent but without a switch for that, just saying coz holiday inn express is not a cheap hotel.
