Very informative, historically. Boat tour was good. Captain and crew are great. Plantations were difficult to see from the water.
Although a bit pricey the airboat ride was fun and we were able to see a few baby gators. I do recommend going early in the morning as the captain informed us that he saw a lot of gators earlier in the day and the later sails can get very hot. The captain stops the boat and teaches you a bit about the area and even lets you take a picture on the airboat after the tour and docking.
Beautiful ride with a great narrator. My only complaint is there should be more signs posted to direct tourists to the exact location of Plantation River Tour and boat.
My family took the 2.5 hour Riverboat Cruise. And honestly it would have been much nicer if it was only an hour. The first 1.5 hours our guide told us a lot of great history about the South Carolina rice plantations. But there was not much to see. We did not see any of the promised wildlife. Some Osprey nests were about the extent of it. The last hour we did see a number of Old Plantation houses but from quite a distance and sometimes through the trees. While there were definitely interesting parts to it we felt it was grossly overpriced for a day of puttering around the river. Our time and money could have been better spent elsewhere.
