Had a wonderful experience renting from Sea Star Realty this summer! They were right on top of our reservation from beginning to end. Very friendly and easy to work with. Will look forward to working with them again!!! Highly recommend them!

My family has never been to the Myrtle Beach area. We visited for the first time last week (6/24 - 7/1/17). We were in town with our son's baseball team, to participate in the Cal Ripken Experience Beach Blast Tournament. I have made all the vacation travel arrangements for my family over the years and I've posted numerous reviews. This has got to be the least positive review to date. To be fair, the rating I would give Sea Star is 2.5, because I made an assumption based on information in their rental agreement. Sea Star could have provided better customer service and gained not only a better review, but repeat customers and word of mouth referrals. Short version of my grievance, booked house, didn't purchase linen package (not worth extra cost, would bring my own). House sells, Sea Star becomes property manager for new owner. Asked to look over and sign new rental agreement. Item #14 in agreement states, " Sea Star offers the most luxurious linens in the area. Resort quality plush towels and high thread count sheets of superior quality for each bed in your vacation home ( including sleeper sofas). Waiting for you in the kitchen are kitchen towels along with some complimentary items. Best of all, all the beds will be made prior to your arrival and towels pre- hung in the bathrooms!" Here is where I make the assumption that linens are now included in the property rental. Arrive at property, no sheets or towels. Call Sea Star, told someone will call us back. Get call back, told there are no linens because I didn't purchase the linen package on the original reservation. Me: What about item 14 in the rental agreement? SS: That applies to purchasing the linen package. Me: How much is linen package? SS: $230. Me: Nope. Not when I was prepared to bring my own. SS: It is somewhat confusing. Let me see what I can do and call you back. Bottom line, I come out of pocket either way......I have no sheets or towels for 6 adults and 3 children. Purchase linens from Sea Star for $160, not happy. Make beds at 10pm. REALLY not happy. Sea Star office closed on Sunday, have to figure out when we can get to the office to talk with someone on Monday, when we have ballgames at 8am & 12:45. Sea Star calls 3 times on Monday wanting to know when we can come by office to settle payment for the linens. Get in touch with Sea Star, they're snippy with me, I'm snippy right back. We need payment today, regardless. Do what you've got to do. Hang up on the agent mid sentence. If I can leave you with one tip to possibly avoid a situation like this, it would be to read your agreement and don't assume. If you have any doubt or questions, call and get clarification.

I will NEVER rent with sea star again! The home we stayed in (Ocean Star) had several issues. Excessive amount of palmetto bugs, mold, and a leaking shower are only the start of the issues. The ice makers were full of mold. All air vents were growing mold, as well as the subfloor which is visible from below the home. This mold is probably a result of the leaking shower directly above the area. The duct work had holes chewed threw it. When we called and asked for something to be done about the bugs they came to spray. But when the problem continued and we mentioned all of the mold, evidence of previous leak and the issues with the duct work they just continued to ask us if we had left a door open and let the bugs in. The staff was very dismissive. Overall a terrible experience and I will be renting with beach realty next time. For goodness sake, one of our guests woke up with a palmetto bug in her hair! Can you imagine? Gross.

The worst place ever. The beach house did not have air conditioning for three days. Do not go here
